Article 48 of Law 2918 uses two thresholds. Above 0.50‰ in a private car, and above 0.20‰ in buses, lorries and other vehicles, is drink-driving.

Driving on narcotic or stimulant drugs is 48/8: 150,000 TL and the licence is cancelled. Refusing a test is 48/9: 150,000 TL and a five-year seizure. Both still get the 25% money discount; the licence action is not cleared by paying early.
48/5 carries 20 penalty points. Returning the licence requires the administrative fines to be collected and, in some cases, a psycho-technical test.
